Haven't posted for a while. I've been consumed by Organic Armor. Since last post I've helped build a new website, which I'm proud of. But business is v e r y s l o w. Time of year, recession...blah, blah. I'm sick of thinking about it.
We drove up to New York last week and on the long car ride home I started writing haikus. Got some to share, some good, some not so good. But in the interest of doing something creative in the new year, without too much attachment, here they all are:
Suddenly starlings
One thousand fluttering nibs
Sky caligraphy
Bag floats full of wind
Graceful across 81
White plastic bird
Chimney blackened
Alone, dry wind, brown grass, snow
Eight miles Roanoke
Eighties songs mark miles
Your own private Idaho
Now in Virginia.
More inspiration from eighties songs - found lines:
One night in Bankok
Turning Japanese (think so?)
Go rock the Casbah
Found lines from signs:
Air ride eqipped
West Virginia welcomes you
Join our car wash club
And another sign inspired one:
"New Addixions" bar
Neatly compacts X rating,
Drugs, Dixie and math.
And some more snapshots:
Still, weathered farm
Hay rolls sleep in snowy field
Interstate zooms by
Like blue haired lady
Winter mountains' thin trees
Reveal snowy pate
Bleep, bleep, ping, boing, zing
Backseat boy plays double screen
Blanket over head
Shiny clean, blue sedan
Man in backseat hugs pug with
Fuschia pink boa grin
Gray winter branches
Infinite monochrome browns
Net shards of blue sky
And here's one from today, written while waiting for a propane fill up:
Heart on Facebook sleeve
Appearance of connection
But still feel alone
Some helpful haiku tips here
Peace,
Jen
