So glad to be home again. Our CA trip was great but exhausting. The festival in San Francisco was a success. Good to see friends and family in LA, though most of the visits had to be sound bites. It was just like LA is in August, hot as hell (104), air you could cut with a knife, wildfires threatening homes, traffic everywhere. But we also went to a groovy art opening, got healing accupuncture, played in the park on a warm summer night, and dipped our toes in the mother Pacific.
Here's Paul posing with Ashley, Radhika's friend from way back. She modelled in the festival fashion show for us.
I came back to 7 foot tall sunflowers and tomatoes rotting in piles on the ground. Apparently it rained a lot while we were gone. I'll post some garden shots in a couple days.
Been cleaning up a summer's worth of piles, projects and laundry, brainstorming new Organic Armor ventures, planning our homeschooling year, completing various volunteer commitments.... whew!
peace,
Jennifer
Sorry, I missed seeing you guys. I would have enjoyed that. I'm no longer at Trinity - switched my membership to St. James on Wilshire.
Yes, August in LA is a vision of Hell. School has occupied me like a soldier in the trenches of Verdun. The assault is not so much from student hostility, but from the School Board and their new proposal to break up and give away public education to Charter groups.
I'm glad to hear that home schoolers are not all gun toting Baptists.

Sorry we missed you too. No, there are lots of homeschoolers that don't have guns and even teach evolution, even in NC!
